We’ve always been curious about the stories our grandmother carried — what it was like growing up, especially during the war. We finally had an opportunity to do this on a recent vacation. We recorded her stories, and in doing so, we realized how powerful and meaningful these conversations could be.
But we needed a better way to capture them — not just for ourselves, but for others too.That’s how 52Q was born. What started as a family moment has grown into an app we’re proud to share with the world — a simple way to ask better questions, preserve family stories, and spark deeper conversations.

What is 52Q?
52Q is a guided storytelling platform that allows storytellers to answer meaningful questions. Questions are chosen by the family group admin and sent to a selected family member, the storyteller. The storyteller responds in their own words — through voice, video, or text. Over time, these stories are compiled into a lasting digital archive.

How does 52Q work?
Choose your storyteller – the person who will answer the questions.
‍Invite family members – they can suggest questions, view responses, or help manage the process.
‍Record weekly or all at once – families can decide their frequency. Some choose to answer one question per week, others prefer to answer many at once, at a family gathering or a vacation.
‍Build your story book – all recordings are saved within the family group, with pictures.
Can we customize the questions?
Yes! While we offer a curated library of over 200 thoughtful questions, you can also write your own.
Do we need to use a specific device or app?
52Q works on both web and mobile for browsing, reading, and managing your family's stories. However, recording audio or video answers can only be done using the mobile app. No special equipment needed — just a smartphone with a mic and camera.
Where does the name 52Q come from?
Our name 52Q comes from "52 Questions," the idea that our app would involve one question per week for one year. While most of our app users do not adhere to this schedule, we decided to keep our original name.
